My first issue of Harper’s Bazaar I believe had Amber Valletta on the cover, back in the 90’s…I thought at the tender age of 15, I was becoming too old for Sassy and Seventeen. I actually started shopping at the Grocery Store in downtown Burlingame. Two of my big purchases, a Katherine Hamnett skirt and Jean Gaultier boots. Both of which I still have in my closet. I’ve come a long way from Esprit and keds! This is how I choose to spend my birthday/babysitting allowance.
So you could only imagine how excited I was to meet Glenda Bailey, Editor-in-Chief of Harper’s Bazaar (10 years and running) and have my copy of Harper’s Bazaar Greatest Hits signed at a soirée in San Francisco. As I cracked open my book, a sense of familiarity emerged; I felt as if I were looking through a photo album of old pals, Nicole, Renee, Amber, Nadja, Shalom …
Can’t wait for what’s in store for the next decade. Til then, I’ll keep saving my favorites. Make sure you add Harper’s BazaarGreatest Hits to your wish list! c’est la vie!
